Which mystery pulled you in?
Maybe it was a sunken city. Maybe a disc that shouldn't exist, or a face on Mars. Answer eight quick questions and I'll tell you which ancient mystery is yours, and hand you the one book of mine to start with.
No right answers. Nothing to sign up for. Nothing here spoils a book. Two minutes, give or take.
No email. No spoilers.
Last time you came out as .
A door in a cliff face, half buried. You have one hour and no phone signal.
Which line makes you drop everything else you were doing today?
Where do we really come from? Your gut says:
Pick the room you'd want to wake up in.
You end up holding proof. What do you actually do with it?
There's a warning carved over the entrance. It says:
How do you like your trouble?
Last one. What makes a book end right for you?
Atlantis
A broken wall is not enough for you. You want the whole city. The streets. The lights. The people who lived there. And if a city that big went under, somebody watched it happen and wrote it down. Then somebody else hid the page. You would rather say it out loud and be wrong than keep quiet and be safe.
The real one: Plato wrote the story down around 360 BC. He said Egyptian priests told it to him. People have hunted for the place ever since, and every hunt picks a different spot on the map.
Project Atlantis
A rebel archaeologist is handed pyramids covered in strange writing, on a moon of Jupiter. He gets two orders. Read them, and keep your mouth shut.

Lemuria
A lot of old cultures tell the same flood story. They lived far apart. Most of them never met. That is the part that gets you. Not the water. The fact that they all say the same thing. You think a myth is a locked box and somebody is sitting on the key.
The real one: The Hopi tell of Kasskara, a land in the Pacific that sank. So do the Maori. So do the Sumerians. So does Genesis. Same story, opposite sides of the world.
Echoes of Time
Written with Douglas E. Richards. A starship that thinks for itself picks an archaeologist and sends him back in time to stop a war between Atlantis and Lemuria.

Yonaguni
You would get in the water. Cold, dark, current pulling at you, and you would still go. The thing you want to look at has been down there since before anybody wrote anything down. It is not going anywhere. You are not waiting.
The real one: Off the coast of Okinawa, in Japan, a stone formation sits eighty feet under water. Flat terraces. Sharp corners. Geologists say the sea carved it. Divers say look at those corners. Last time that spot was dry land, the ice age was still on.
Ancients Beneath
An archaeologist everybody laughs at gets a package from a dead student. The note says come finish what I started. It happens at Yonaguni, and it is yours free.

The Sumerian Tablets
You want it in writing, and you want it old. Hand you a clay tablet and a translation and you will stay up all night arguing about one word. You do not need a spaceship. You need one line nobody was supposed to write down.
The real one: Sumer left behind thousands of clay tablets. Some list kings who ruled for tens of thousands of years. Some say gods came down and put people to work. Historians call the whole thing myth. The tablets do not say myth.
Veil Rising
An archaeologist reads one Sumerian tablet and learns what the Anunnaki really did with us. That tablet starts a rebellion across the galaxy.

The Face on Mars
You look up, not down. Buried is fine. But you have a feeling the good stuff left this planet a long time ago, and it is sitting out on a red plain waiting for somebody to show up with a better camera.
The real one: In 1976 a Viking spacecraft photographed what looks like a mile-wide face in a part of Mars called Cydonia. NASA called it a trick of light and shadow. Sharper pictures came later. People still argue about it.
Mars Declassified
Logan Wells has four hours before a mining crew tears through the site he is standing on. This one is brand new, and I sell it here, not on Amazon.

Area 51
Your mystery is not in a temple. It is in a filing cabinet. Somebody knows. Somebody signed a form. You want the name on that form. Ruins are nice. Paperwork is proof.
The real one: The US government would not admit the base existed until 2013, and only then inside an old CIA report about spy planes that finally got declassified. Everything else about the place is still one person's word against another's.
Alien Incursion
A team works out of Area 51, jumping between timelines to find out why something is collapsing them. One of those timelines is run by Atlantis.

The Garden
Where we came from is your question. Not the ruins. The blood. You read a family tree the way a detective reads a crime scene, and you have already worked out which branch is lying.
The real one: Genesis is oddly exact about the place. Four rivers, and two of them are named: the Tigris and the Euphrates. People have been quietly looking for it in southern Iraq for a very long time.
Horizon Protocol
Eight campers found dead under a hovering disc. Not a mark on them. Start here. The bloodline question lands in book two and you will want the run-up.

The Dropa Stones
You like the small stuff. Not a city. One object. Something that fits in your hand and has no business existing. That is worse than a city, really. Nobody can hide a city. Anybody can hide a disc in a drawer.
The real one: The story says grooved stone discs came out of caves on the border of China and Tibet in 1938. Nobody argues about the next part. The discs are gone, and so are the museum records of them.
Deadrise
Four men put a rifle in Colton Riley's back and made him prove the stone discs were real. It is the first tablet on the Decode page. Work out the word and it is yours.
