About

I dig where they tell you not to.

International bestselling author of forbidden archaeology sci-fi thrillers. Over forty books. Same rule in all of them: if they say it's impossible, look closer.

What if the official story is wrong on purpose? That question sits under every book I write.

Project Atlantis was my breakout. International bestseller, months on the charts. It kicked off the Ascendant Saga, five books about an archaeologist named Kaden Jaxx and the pyramids he finds on a moon of Jupiter. Since then I've written or co-written over forty novels.

I call the genre Lost Archaeology SciFi, because nobody had a name for it. Ancient people who knew more than we're told. Dig sites the experts walk right past. Powerful people who want it all kept buried. I take the real mysteries, the ones the textbooks skip, and ask what happens if they're true.

With New York Times bestseller Douglas E. Richards I write the Epic of Atlantis series. It started with Echoes of Time, a story built on Hopi accounts of a great flood and a war between two lost civilizations. While I was writing it I went to the Hopi mesas and sat with the people there. One Elder took the time to teach me their history, their lore, and their legends. I also drew on the legends recorded by the late Hopi elder Oswald White Bear Fredericks.

I've also written space opera and military science fiction: Star Guild, Mars Colony Chronicles, Shadow Watch, Farthest Reaches, Blink, and Battles of the Republic with James Rosone. Different worlds, same rule. Big stakes, fast pages, and characters you'd follow through a wall.

Before the books I spent twenty years as a licensed Sports Massage Therapist and instructor. That's why my characters get tired, get hurt, and keep going. Before that I was an All-State baseball and All-League basketball player out of Gladstone, Oregon. The athlete's habit stuck: show up every day and do the work.

Michael Crichton taught me a thriller can teach you something real. Michael A. Stackpole taught me how big a world can get.

Right now I'm chasing the next mystery the mainstream won't touch. Want to come along? The reader list is where I share what I find.
